Deep in the heart of everyone
Lays a spark that fires a passion
A need of the will to rise above the plain
and ordinary life, to keep nothing the same.
We've come as a human race so far
Through ancient ways, revolution and war
And we still have so far to go.
So we look to the skies and the stars high above
But all we ever hear are the poets talk of love
We look to the seas and the lands far away
But we'd rather stay home and
remain somewhat safe.
We've come as a human race so far
Through modern times, television and more
And we still have so far to go.
Walk across the different lands
I make my way through dusty city streets
As I travel around the world.
I hear the sounds of an alien tongue
Living ancient ways, revolution and war
Boy they really have a long way to go.
They look to the skies and the lights up above
And they pray to a God they don't even know
They look at my clothes, my hair and my face
Then they shake their heads and they turn away
We've come as a human race so bored
Even strangers are treated like an open sore
Do we really have much more to go?
