How To Pacify A Suicide Bomber

This should be rather interesting. Be aware this is completely tongue-in-cheek . . .
A beautiful day in America and those in New York City are breathing a sigh of relief after a near-miss in Times Square last night. Of course, right away many thought it was some radial Muslim fundamentalist (we still don't know, and yet many Americans have probably already made up their minds) and that got me thinking how we (as a nation) can pacify this aggresive radicalism.
1) Censor South Park (the cartoon on Comedy Central). Sure, this show has shown Jesus in a terrible light, shown Buddha snorting cocaine, and many other envelope-pushing bits. It has even shown Mohammed (in their Super Heroes episode, yet that was before 9/11). But, alas, we don't want anyone to get riled, so let's just censor it.
Okay. We did that. And still the extremism continues. So, lets do the next one:
2) Stop Thinking Islam Is Evil. This one should be easy, and from personal experience (being raised by Muslim parents) I can tell you Islam is peaceful. Sure, there are parts of the Quran which are not so . . . politically correct, yet have you looked at the Bible? Geez, if you take the Bible out of context (as many take the Quran) you are left with Kill, Kill, Pray, Kill, Forty Days And Forty Nights, Kill, Get In The Boat . . . and you get my point.
Okay, everyone has had 'peaceful Islam' drilled into them, from the presidents Mr. Obama and Mr. Bush to every news outlet on the planet. And still the extremism continues. So, let's do the next one:
3) Start Understanding The Radicals. Well, a small (yet extremely vocal) part of this country (and Europe) says they understand the reasons behind this Muslim radicalization and the need for some to strap a belt with explosives on and just do it. It's because of American involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan (of course, the first Gulf War started it all when bin Laden objected to Americans on Saudi soil), because of America's defense of Israel, and because we have what they cannot fathom: freedom. Well, this small (yet extremely vocal) part of this country has explained their understanding, and their wish to 'do something about it', and the radicalization continues. So, we should perhaps try to . . .
4) Stop Eating Pork. This one is not gonna happen, unfortunately. I don't eat any pork, yet Americans love their bacon. Sorry potential bombers, you're going to have to deal with this and 'understand' certain things about us. Perhaps we'll just skip this one and go on to the next one:
5) Start Oppressing Women. This one also isn't going to happen anytime in anyone's lifetime. Been there done that, as America's history can attest, and our worst 'oppression' is nothing like the oppression of Arab (or Iranian) women worldwide which is happening right now. Anyone who says they 'understand' the 'plight' of these bombers and gives them a pass on this one is living separate from reality. So, we'll just have to skip that one and try the last one, which is . . .
6) End The Great Satan. This one also, sadly for the bombers, is not going to happen. Sure, we have our problems and we have our (exceedingly vitriolic) disagreements, yet we understand it is possible to disagree with someone and not strap a bomb to our belts. We might not like what others have to say, it might sometimes make our blood boil, yet all of us, in our own way, would lay down their life for the right to disagree.
I guess in the end it's impossible to pacify a suicide bomber. Too bad, since without those bomb-belts and explosives I'm sure they're really nice people.
Well, that's what we're told, anyway . . .

I am a Buddhist while my neighbours in my left and right are both Muslims. They are such nice family.
However, it's sad that certain parties use the religion for their own political benefit. Suicide bombers are really extremist people which they think that revenge is the only vocab in this world.I agree, it is sad. And yet, I wonder about the revenge aspect of it. There is a teaching from the Quran which states if you really want to get at someone for revenge' sake, the person who wants revenge is to kill himself on the doorstep (of the person he is angry with). Strange how it has been perverted to strapping a bomb to one's self (or using a car bomb, or plane, etc.).Thanks for stopping by, and welcome to Searchwarp.
I wonder how many would-be suicide bombers won't go through with it because they think it makes them look fat? Probably none.Besides, who can pass up 70 virgins and a private mansion?
